UPUHAUT SURVEY, SEPTEMBER 2002
On September 2002 a new robot of the team of
R.Gantenbrink carried out investigations in the North and
South shafts of the Queen Chamber.
Recalling: The sheaths have a section of about 20
centimetres by 20 and each of them was closed at their end
by a door located at a distance of about 60 meters from the
Queen Chamber.
This Northern shaft is sealed by an identical door, the
same than the Southern Shaft, with as principal difference a
worse quality in apparent completion and adjustments.
Moreover, the backs of bronze door handles were remained
intact and this door does not have a chamfer in its right
lower part.
During September 2002 it was proceeded ( live
retransmitted on public televisions channels), at the boring
of the door of the Queen Chamber Southern shaft.
For this project, the Upuhaut mini-robot was equipped
partly frontal with a motorized axis to proceed as a
drilling machine.
Investigation of the Southern door shaft by the mean of
the robot fitted with a mini-drilling machine for proceed to
a hole of order of centimetre in diameter and to introduce
inside the cavity a mini camera which unfortunately
discovered only one small empty space of approximately 18
centimetres, and this space was also sealed by a stone
identical to the door.
No final answer could be brought about the role or the
function of the shafts which still remains
an unsolved
question.
